Reports

April 26-28 Midlands woodworking and woodturning show.

I entered the competition at this show but did not come anywhere I am only a novice turner but I thought I would just give it a shot. The show itself was attended by many tool and machinery manufacturers and retailers, offering some great deals on the day also some pieces were for sale there. The quality of the turnings in the competitions were excellent some of the prizes were well deserved although I could not agree with them all being better than some of the ones that didn't even place. It was also attended by a number of clubs displaying the work of members some of which was in my opinion a higher quality than some of the winning professionals. Also in attendance were some big name professionals the likes of Reg Sherwin and Phil Irons. All in all it was a well planned show which was well attended and worth every penny of the £7.00 entry, I shall be going again next year.
